Privacy Policy

Monetise Africa ("we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

1. Information we collect When you visit our site or make a purchase, we may collect: your name, email address, billing details and payment information (processed securely by our payment providers — we do not store full card details), your order history, and technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and how you interact with our site. This technical data is collected through cookies, analytics, and advertising tools including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Meta's Conversions API.

2. Why we collect it We use your information to process and deliver your orders, send you your purchases and receipts, respond to your support queries, improve our website and products, measure and improve our advertising, and — only if you opt in — send you marketing communications.

3. Lawful basis We process your personal information to fulfil our contract with you (delivering what you bought), to meet legal obligations, on the basis of our legitimate interest in marketing our products, and on the basis of your consent where required (for example, marketing emails).

4. Sharing your information We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed to provide the service. These include:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts our store and processes orders.
  • Payment processors (such as Yoco) — to securely process your payment. We do not store your full card details.
  • Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) — we use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure the performance of our advertising and to show relevant ads. This may involve sharing certain information with Meta, such as your IP address, browser and device information, the pages and products you view, and actions you take (like completing a purchase). Where we share contact information (such as your email) for ad matching, it is hashed (encrypted) before being sent. You can learn how Meta uses this data in their Data Policy at facebook.com/privacy.

Some of these providers may process data outside South Africa; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected in line with POPIA.

5. Cookies and tracking Our site uses cookies to make it work properly, remember your cart, and understand how visitors use the site. We also use advertising and analytics cookies and similar technologies (including the Meta Pixel) to measure and improve our ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad personalisation directly in your Facebook and Instagram account settings.

6. How long we keep it We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out here, or as required by law (for example, keeping records of transactions).

7. Security We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure.

8. Your rights Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to certain processing (including marketing). To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@monetiseafrica.co.za.

9. Advertising and your choices We advertise on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. To do this, we share limited data with Meta as described in Section 4, on the basis of our legitimate interest in marketing our products. You have the right under POPIA to object to the processing of your personal information for direct marketing. You can opt out of personalised ads in your Meta account settings, or contact us at support@monetiseafrica.co.za and we will assist.

10. Information Officer You can reach them at support@monetiseafrica.co.za.

11. Changes to this policy We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
